Fourth Grade
Reading
This web site is designed to help teachers
and their students prepare for the Fourth Grade Reading
Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). It includes
resources for teachers as well as practice activities and
tests for students. Many of the materials are also available
in a print-friendly format.

FCAT
Explorer
The FCAT Explorer offers students fun,
effective practice on skills outlined in the Sunshine State
Standards and tested on the FCAT. The FCAT Explorer also
enables teachers to create reports and monitor student
performance and progress. Currently, skill practice is
available for 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th grade reading, as well
as 5th, 8th, and 10th grade math. A user account is needed
and may be obtained through your district office. |

Standards and Instructional Implications
This publication provides an analysis of
previous years' FCAT results and contains analyses of state
FCAT Reading, Writing, and Mathematics data for the years
since the first administration. A task force of Florida
educators, Department of Education staff and Harcourt
Educational Measurement staff examined FCAT data to
determine statewide trends and used these trends to gain
insights into student performance. Instructional
implications sections have been included to assist educators
in improving instruction in the classroom. |
