Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers!  We hope you understand just how much you are appreciated by everyone at LCE!

Stacks Image 507LCE Welcomes Reading Pals and our New Volunteers!  Become a Reading Pal. The Children’s Movement and United Way, in conjunction with local and statewide partners and Carol and Barney Barnett, are launching a three-year initiative focused on engaging, training and deploying volunteer “reading pals” in ten Florida regions to increase the number of students who are reading at grade level by the end of third grade. ReadingPals are asked to volunteer for one hour, one day a week using a curriculum designed by Highlands and Polk County Schools. Contact the school for more information on becoming a Kindergarten Reading Pal. Training will be provided.
