Congress-Bundestag Program Vocational Exchange Program
Program Summary: The program is being administered by the Nacel Open Door in cooperation with Open Door International e.V. in Germany.
The Congress-Bundestag Vocational scholarship provides an opportunity for U.S. high school graduates who have undertaken vocational training to spend their 13th year abroad pursing their vocational interests.
February 1st
Arts for Life
Basic requirements: Students demonstrate excellence in creative writing, dance, drama, or visual art who are graduating from a public or private school or a home education program in Florida in the Spring of 2012.
Application Process: Students must submit a completed application, a brief essay explaining “How the art have positively influence my life” and a portfolio of work in creative writing, dance, drama, music or visual art.
February 8th
KFC Scholar's Program
Criteria for Application: Graduating from high school this academic year (between 12/1/2011 and 8/31/2012)
o Enrolling in a public (state-funded) college or university within your state of legal residence (start date no later than 9/30/2012)
o Earning a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75
o Pursuing a bachelor's degree
o A U.S. citizen or permanent resident
o Demonstrate financial need

Public Education and Citizenship Statewide Essay Contest
Eligibility: All Graduating High Seniors in the State of Florida who will be attending a State of Florida Supported School during the following semester/quarter. (State supported schools include any community college or university, or division of higher learning governed by the State Board of Regents). You must enter the school within one semester/quarter (excluding summer sessions) after you have been awarded this scholarship.
Requirements: A 1,000 word essay on “Why Education is Important”. All work must be original and become the property of The Grand Lodge of F. &A.M. of Florida.

AAUW Scholarship
Basic requirements for scholarship:
2.5 GPA (academic history to be attached by guidance department).
One letter of recommendation
Extracurricular activities
Essay/ 250 words on the topic of the Future plans and the role of women in today’s society.
*Winners will be announced after Spring Break and AAUW requests that you attend their meeting at 10:00 on Saturday, April 14th at Placid Lakes Country Club. [subject to change]

Florida Hospital Healthcare Scholarship
Basic requirements: Student must be going into the healthcare field
3 students from APHS must apply for one student to be considered
March 3rd
Ridge League of Cities Scholarship
The basic requirements for the scholarship include:
o Goals, need, recommendations and transcript
o Students write an essay as part of the application
March 9th

Alpha Delta Kappa Claire A. Rowe Memorial Scholarship
Basic requirement: Student must be going into the Education field.
March 15th
South Florida Community College Foundation Scholarships
Basic requirements:
All applicants must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (same requirement for federal aid).
Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours or 240 clock hours per term).
While each scholarship criteria varies, preference is usually given to students with B
averages or higher.
Applicants must submit a complete scholarship application (page 2). Students who submit
applications with information omitted may lose their chance to be considered for a
scholarship.

Basic requirements: Student who is majoring in horticulture, floriculture or botany.

Basic Requirements:
o Financial Need
o Academic Potential and 2.5 GPA

o Intention of enrolling or currently enrolled in Florida State University

Sweet Adelines International/ Scholarship
Basic Requirements: Young ladies who are:
o Graduating seniors who wish to continue their education for a college degree Interested in vocal music
o Have participated in vocal music activities during high school
o Considering vocal music or music education focus for their college studies

Bernie Varnadore Scholarship Program/Dixie Youth
Basic requirements: Outstanding High School Seniors who have participated in a franchised Dixie Boy’s Baseball, Inc. program and plan to pursue undergraduate studies at a college or university may apply.
Mason G. Smoak Memorial Scholarship

Heartland EAA Chapter 1240 Aviation Education Scholarship/ Grade 11
Basic requirements for scholarship:
o Youth need to have participated in the EAA Young Eagles Program
o At 17 years of age by the time you complete your training. You can solo at age 16.
o Valid state driver’s license by the time you finish your training
o Proficient in the English language
o Be able to affirm general good health and not using substances or medications that will impede judgment, cognition or motor skills.

River Greens Scholarship Fund
Basic requirements for scholarship are as follows:
A student of Highlands County, Florida who exhibit outstanding character, commendable citizenship, a demonstrated passion for the game of golf, commensurate ability to play the game and who are recommended for financial assistance with education by his/her school administration, teachers, and staff, regardless of race, color, sex, creed or national origin.
