Established in 1991 and named for its proximity to the Florida Cracker Trail, Cracker Trail Elementary School is one of Highlands County's top elementary schools. This year we are proud to celebrate 20 consecutive years of Mustang excellence. We have the most involved parents, a dedicated staff and the very best students all of which contribute to our success. You can find us here in the heart of Highlands County.

Our MISSION as educators, with the cooperative efforts of students, parents, and community as partners is to address the varying modes of learning and to provide an environment, which will enable each student to develop thinking, problem solving, and communication skills that prepare all students to be responsible and productive members of a diverse society.

Our VISION at Cracker Trail Elementary School is to continually strive to be a technology school that recognizes each student as an individual. Our instruction will meet the diverse needs of each student by providing a blend of the best methods and processes with the most effective techniques and materials, thus preparing our students to become healthy, productive citizens as members of an ever-changing global community.
